Vacuum quenching (tempering, annealing): A treatment method that achieves the desired properties by heating or cooling the material or part under vacuum in accordance with the process specifications.

Vacuum brazing: a vacuum forming process in which a set of weldments is heated above the melting point of the filler metal but below the melting point of the base metal, and a weld is formed by wetting and flowing the filler metal to the base metal. Vacuum sintering: a method in which a metal powder product is heated under vacuum to cause adjacent metal powder grains to be sintered into parts by adhesion and diffusion.
